PDP urges Nigerians to embrace national rebirth, reject totalitarianism

The Peoples Democratic Party urged Nigerians to use this year’s celebration of the Eid-el Maulud to foster national rebirth and reinforce their resolve against totalitarianism in the country.
The party made the call in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Friday in Abuja.
He congratulated Nigerians, especially the Muslims on the Eid-el Maulud.
Mr Ologunagba said that “the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) comes as a demonstration of the supremacy of the Will of the Almighty Allah in the affairs of men.”
According to him, the occasion presents the nation, particularly leaders, the opportunity to retrace their steps and seek divine direction in all their activities as exemplified in the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet.
Mr Ologunagba said the government should use the occasion to introspect and review its policies in a way to address insecurity and hardship and other challenges facing the country.
He also advised the ruling party to respect the will of Nigerians, by listening to alternative opinions, “which is the hallmark of democracy.”
Mr Ologunagba, however, called on Nigerians not to despair but to continue to show love to one another and remain resolute in their rallying with the PDP to salvage the nation.
