Police neutralise suspected armed robber in Nasarawa

Police in Nasarawa state neutralised a suspected armed robber and arrested another at Aso Pada community in Karu Local Government Area of the state on Friday.

Police spokesman, DSP Ramhan Nansel, stated in Lafia on Saturday that police received a distress call at about 11:45 p.m. on Friday that a gang of eight armed robbers was attacking the community.

“Upon receipt of the information, police, in collaboration with members of vigilance groups and some brave members of the community, went after the hoodlums, neutralised one and arrested another,’’ he stated.

He added that two stolen phones and other incriminating items were recovered from the gang just as the member arrested was giving useful information that would assist in a police investigation.

Mr Nansel commended the vigilance groups and members of the community for their bravery and assured them of continuous support.
