Protesters besiege Asokoro as SSS, police move to stop march to Presidential Villa

A massive crowd of protesters from Mararaba, Nasarawa, were stopped by Nigerian security agencies from marching into the Asoroko district on Thursday.

A massive crowd of protesters from Mararaba, Nasarawa, were stopped by Nigerian security agencies from marching into the Asoroko district on Thursday.

Protesters in the early hours of Thursday blocked the Mararaba-Nyanya Expressway, venting their displeasure over economic hardships under President Bola Tinubu’s watch.

The crowd took off from Mararaba Bridge, marching into Nyanya in Abuja and progressing into Asokoro district before they were forced to make a detour by armed security operatives who rained tear gas on them.
