Protesters besiege Rivers APC secretariat, vandalise party’s billboard, property
Youths in Rivers State protesting against #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria, have attacked the Rivers State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Port-Harcourt.
In a video shared by @PH_Socials on Tuesday, one of the angry youths during the invasion, climbed and tore up an APC billboard, with a knife, despite appeals by fellow protesters not to do so.
While some protesters were seen with sticks being used to vandalise other property on sight at the scene, others held up leaves in support of the destruction and chanted, “Tinubu must go.”
As the demonstration enters day six, protests are ongoing in some states despite an appeal by President Bola Tinubu in his speech on Sunday. The aggrieved youths said the speech failed to address any of their demands.
The protesters are demanding the reversal of some policies of the government which worsened the nation’s economic challenges.
