The House of Representatives has tasked security agencies to flush out criminal elements in the Nimbo, Opanda and Ogboli communities in the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area(LGA) of Enugu State.

This followed the adoption of a motion by Rep. Martins Oke (PDP-Enugu) at plenary in Abuja on Tuesday.

Presenting the motion, Mr Oke said the inhabitants of the communities had been thrown into fear following the activities of the criminals.

Adopting the motion, the House observed a one-minute silence in honour of those killed during attacks on the communities. It urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide relief materials to the victims.

It urged heads of security agencies in the country to deploy additional security personnel to the communities.

The House also mandated its Committees on Police, Army, National Security and Intelligence to ensure compliance.
