Independent candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has suspended his presidential campaign and announced his support for Republican Party candidate, Donald Trump.

Mr Kennedy, in a live broadcast on Friday, announced the suspension of his presidential campaign, stating that he would “now throw his support to President Trump.”

“In my heart, I no longer believe I have a realistic path to an electoral victory,” Mr Kennedy said. “I am not terminating my campaign. I am simply suspending it.”

Mr Kennedy’s endorsement of Mr Trump comes less than 24 hours after Kamala Harris emerged as the Democratic Party presidential candidate during their convention.
