Sadio Mane will not be part of the Senegalese contingent to Qatar World Cup after failing to recover from his nagging injury, many sources are reporting.

The Senegal Football Federation had indicated that Mane would only miss the Teranga Lions’ initial matches at the mundial but it has now been confirmed that he would not altogether be available.

Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano posted on his verified that the 30-year-old will not be part of action for Senegal in Qatar, citing that his injury is not healing well to be fit for the biggest football showpiece.

To get Mane fit for the competition, Senegalese FIFA General Secretary, Fatma Samoura, had suggested that the country might deploy witch doctors to cure Mane’s injury.

Senegal is now expected to name a replacement for Mane before their opening game of the campaign against 2010 finalists, Netherlands on Monday at the Al Thumama Stadium.
