Security guards convicted, jailed for negligence

A magistrates’ court in Jos on Monday sentenced two security guards, Naphtali Nansak, 34, and Gabriel Kenshio, 36, to one year’s imprisonment each for negligence
The magistrate, Irene Pati, sentenced the convicts who pleaded guilty to negligent conduct.
Ms Pati, however, fined each of them N40,000.
The prosecution counsel, Daniel Damulak, told the court that the complainant, Onyekwere Churchill, reported the case at the Anglo-Jos police station on February 10.
Mr Damulak said the offence contravened the provisions of the Plateau Penal Code Law.
