Mr Taldar will thereafter be appointed to the board as an executive director and assume the CEO role on July 1, 2024, when Mr Ogunsanya will step down from the board and retire from the company.

The release also disclosed that Mr Ogunsanya will, upon his retirement, become the inaugural chairman of Airtel Africa Charitable Foundation due to his experience across the continent.

“Airtel Africa Plc today announced the retirement of the chief executive officer, Olusegun Segun Ogunsanya, with effect from July 1, 2024.
