The Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan remanded a 38-year-old man, Lami Yakubu, and six others on Tuesday for killing two men with a gun.

The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, are charged with conspiracy to murder, murder, and attempted murder.

The magistrate, Adebola Adeola, did not take their pleas for lack of jurisdiction.

She directed the police to return the case file to the director of public prosecutions for advice.

She directed that the defendants be kept in prison custody pending the advice.

The magistrate adjourned the case until June 28 for mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Iyabo Oladoyin, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on January 24 and May 7 at 5:00 p.m. at Ariku-Oko, Ibadan.

Ms Oladoyin alleged that the defendants unlawfully caused the deaths of Semiu Olaosebikan and Ibrahim Adebayo by shooting them with a gun.

Ms Oladoyin alleged that the defendants also unlawfully attempted to cause the death of Soliu Jimoh by shooting him with a gun.
