Several dead as fire razes buildings, vehicles in Lagos
Several people have been reported dead as a fire broke out in a building located at Eletu Ogabi street, off Adeola Odeku, Victoria island in Lagos.
The fire, which was said to have been caused by a generator explosion which occurred on Tuesday morning, also destroyed vehicles and buildings around the premises.
Footage circulated online shows some of the victims burnt beyond recognition, while thick flames were pouring out of the building beside Keystone Bank branch at Adeola Odeku.
Nosa Okunbor, spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), said officials of the agency were already at the scene to put out the fire.
