Sri Lanka to import eggs to stabilise prices

On Tuesday, the Sri Lankan government approved a proposal to import eggs to stabilise market prices.

The government also hoped to ensure adequate supplies during the upcoming festive seasons.

The government’s information department has said.

The department said that the Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Security, Nalin Fernando, had submitted the proposal to import eggs.

The last such cabinet decision, taken on March 18, set a time frame for the end of April.
