• January 15, 2024

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has called for good governance after the Supreme Court judgments on contested governorship elections.

The national chairman of IPAC, Yusuf Dantalle, made the demand in a statement on Sunday.

Mr Dantalle congratulated all parties who emerged victorious at the Supreme Court.

He congratulated Governors Abba Yusuf, Caleb Mutfwang, Francis Nwifuru, and Alex Otti on their affirmed mandates.

Mr Dantalle also commended the losers, who accepted the apex court’s judgments with maturity and grace.

He commended their commitment to upholding the rule of law and prioritising the stability of the Nigerian democracy.

While congratulating the victorious governors, he however advised them to be magnanimous.

He encouraged them to reach out to all stakeholders, irrespective of their political affiliations, and build bridges of unity and inclusivity within their states.

Mr Dantalle emphasised the urgency of shifting focus from litigation to the critical task of governance.
