The Supreme Court on Thursday reserved verdict on the appeal brought before it by Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu, challenging the judgment of the Court of Appeal which affirmed the victory of Dapo Abiodu as the winner for the March 18, governorship election.

A five-member panel of the apex court led by Justice John Okoro adjourned for judgement after hearing the arguments of the involved parties.

The appeal filed by Mr Adebutu sought the nullification of the declaration of Mr Abiodun as winner of the poll, claiming that the Independent National Electoral Commission initially cancelled elections in 99 polling units.

He therefore requested that a fresh election be conducted in the polling units.
