The Transmission Company of Nigeria says it has successfully restored the 330 kilovolt Shiroro-Mando Transmission Line 2, following completion of repair works.

The company’s spokeswoman, Ndidi Mbah, in a statement, said that the line was energised after TCN’s engineers concluded extensive technical interventions.

Ms Mbah said the intervention was aimed at ensuring the integrity and operational reliability of the infrastructure, adding that the restoration was carried out with strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

”With Line 1 and 2 now operational, both circuits of the Shiroro-Mando 330kV transmission corridor are fully functional.

”This restoration reinforces bulk electricity transmission to the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company franchise area, enhances network flexibility, and strengthens overall system reliability,” she said.

According to her, the return of both lines marks a significant milestone in TCN’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the transmission backbone and ensure reliable electricity delivery across its network.

Ms Mbah said that the company appreciates the cooperation and understanding of customers and stakeholders during the outage period and reaffirmed its commitment to building a resilient and efficient national grid.

The company had earlier restored the 330 kilovolt Shiroro-Mando Transmission Line 1.
