Presidential aide Abdulaziz Abdulaziz says President Bola Tinubu is compassionate and concerned about Nigerians’ current hardship.

Mr Abdulaziz, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, disclosed this during an interactive session with journalists on Tuesday in Kano.

He explained that the president was aware of the hardship Nigerians face due to his administration’s various policies.

Mr Abdulaziz noted that the government was working on reducing the burden to make life easier for Nigerians.

“The president is already taking measures to address the challenges brought about by the reforms introduced by the administration in all sectors of the economy,” he added.

He recalled that the federal government announced N5 billion as palliative measures for each state and trucks of grains to cushion the effect of the removal of subsidies.

Mr Abdulaziz said all the states had already received N2 billion from the federal government, and the president approved student loans to make education more affordable for tertiary institutions.

The presidential aide, who restated the FG’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians, said the president accorded high priority to defence and internal security.

The president’s aide urged the media to support and promote good government policies and programmes.

In a remark, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) chairman of the Kano council, Abbas Ibrahim, urged journalists to seek self-development, sharpen their skills and create a legacy.

Mr Ibrahim further encouraged journalists to fight the spread of fake news, promote good government policies, and hold the government responsible for the people.
