Thirty-two players are expected in Ibadan as the Nigeria U-23 side camp will be officially opened today ahead of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Tanzania.

Nigeria, who won the 2015 edition, missed the 2019 tournament after failing to qualify for the group stage.

Coach Salisu Yusuf and his boys will be hoping to secure qualification for the 2023 edition scheduled for Morocco.

The tournament also serves as the Confederation of African Football(CAF) qualification path to the 2024 Summer Olympics in France – two finalists and the third-place playoff winner will automatically qualify for the Olympics.

The first leg of the fixture against the Tanzanian side will take place at the Lekan Salami Stadium on October 29.

The Remo Stars goalkeeper is one of the big names on the list invited for the match. Midfielder Haggai Katoh is also invited to the camp, and Flying Eagles goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu, who was part of the Nigeria U-20 side that won the WAFU B U20 championship in Niger.
