The Kremlin has accused the West of waging a diplomatic, economic and political war on Russia.

“They are enemy states because what they are doing is war,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday during an educational conference near Moscow.

“The president had earlier spoken of an economic “blitzkrieg” in view of the western sanctions, while the invasion of Ukraine is still called a ‘special military operation’”.

Mr Peskov said his country was experiencing a perfect storm and the moment of truth.

“Russia must show that it is capable of protecting its interests. Every war ends with peace, and peace will be one where our voice is heard,” Mr Peskov stressed.
