Umahi suspends GM of Ebonyi water supply agency over poor performance
Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi has approved the immediate suspension of the General Manager of the Ebonyi State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Sunday Opoke, over poor performance.
The notice of the suspension was signed by Kenneth Ugbala, the Secretary to the State Government, and made available to journalists in Abakaliki on Friday.
It stated that the government had noticed with dismay, the non-supply of pipe-borne water to the citizens, in spite of its huge investment in the agency and water sector in general.
“The government has set up a committee to investigate the activities of the agency under Opoke. This is to ascertain the reason for the non-supply of potable water to the citizens,” the notice partly read.
