Traditional ruler of Gbara community, Saheed Adesegun Bankole, and other Eti-Osa Local Government executives have shunned the invitation of the Lagos police command.

In February, the command invited the traditional ruler and the local government officials for questioning.

This was sequel to a viral audio where Mr Bankole and his colleagues were heard threatening some residents and traders to vote for the APC in the elections or they will be evicted from Eti-Osa.

Spokesman for the police in Lagos, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed to Peoples Gazette that the suspects have twice ignored the invitations from the command.

Similarly, another source confirmed to The Gazette that Sanwo-Olu’s government officials asked the chief and local government executives not to honour the police invitation.

In the viral audio, the traditional ruler requested for Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and asked the residents of Gbara community to vote APC candidates.

The traditional ruler threatened people that intend to vote for candidates from other parties that they will be evicted from the community.

“The people that will be friends with us are those with PVCs and the people that will be doing business, and making a profit here will only be the people that have their PVCs and are willing to vote for our party — APC. Nothing short of that,” he said.

“If you have any other party in mind, as a Nigerian, I’m not holding you, make sure that you are far away from here, just give a gap from Gbara. You want to vote Labour party, you want to vote PDP, it will not be here,” he threatened.
