Yahaya Bello scores 47 votes at APC primary, fails to corner Kogi’s 63 delegates
Governor Yahaya Bello did not win Kogi’s 63 delegates at the All Progressives Congress presidential primary. Instead, he had only 47 votes.
Mr Bello’s votes failed to mirror his public appeal and media spending in the weeks leading up to the ruling party primary.
He had repeated played up his ability to deliver the ticket for himself, saying he was the best candidate with national appeal.
He received strong backing from Hafsat Abiola and other youth grassroots organisers and spent heavily on media ads.
