The authorities have arrested or exiled most human rights defenders, including women human rights advocates and LGBTQ+ defenders, who are arbitrarily charged, tried, arrested, subject to torture, incommunicado detention, enforced disappearances, and murder, and many have been unlawfully convicted of violating the counter-terrorism and cybercrime laws.
