Various parties to the ongoing conflict violate the rights of human rights defenders and journalists are arbitrarily arrested, kidnapped, sentenced to prison, and threatened with death for documenting human rights violations. Furthermore, portrayed as the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, the country faces poverty, collapsed services, and violence, including violence against women and children.
