                                                   THE AMERASIAN
                                     What did he say?

                                                   THE GIRL
He seemed to understand. But he
doesn't think we are in love.

                                                   THE AMERASIAN

                                     In time he will understand.

50 EXT. THE GRASSY HILL - AFTER DARK

THE GIRL stands up and then pulls THE AMERASIAN up, too. Arm in
arm, they walk toward the girl's home. The wind blows and lifts her hair,

exposing her white face, which contrasts with the dark skin of the
                       Amerasian.

The two lovers walk as if in a dream. They aren't aware that
POLICEMAN B, who has been lying in ambush behind her house with

a gun, has his eyes trained on them.

The lovers' shadows are clearly outlined against the sky. The tall, lanky
Amerasian walks alongside the thin, frail girl.
At times, the two shadows merge, and then separate.

                                                   POLICEMAN B
                                            (saying silently)
These two are really in love. Wait!
What did I just think? Did I accept
that they were in love? This can't
                                     be. She was seduced.

He keeps his gun aimed at the couple.
