THE AMERASIAN (CONT'D)
Don't, don't die on me. I will...
take you with me...

He can feel that she is still bleeding. Her blood feels warm as it spreads
over the hand that is holding her.

Another shot rings out. He feels a sharp pain in his back,
and his chest explodes as if it had been torn apart. He falls face down
with his arms still tightly holding on to the girl.

The two fall and tumble down into a deep ditch at the foot of the hill. He

feels weightless and then feels pain as his head crashes down on a
very hard object. The girl is ejected from his arms and lands on the
ground at some distance from him.

41 EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

THE AMERASIAN suddenly awakes. He is drenched in sweat. He
opens his eyes and tries to look around. He sees that he had fallen
asleep at the tomb with his head wedged against a headstone. That is
what caused him to have this piercing headache. And the beautiful and
frightening scene he just experienced was only a dream.

42 INT. THE AMERASIAN'S HOME – DAYTIME

POLICEMAN A walks into the house without knocking when he sees
the AMERISIAN'S MOTHER sitting by herself in the middle of the
house. She coughs and looks sad. Her eyes are sunken.

Policeman A greets her and looks around.

POLICEMAN A
Greetings. How are you? Where is
the Amerasian?

The woman answers without looking at Policeman A.
