THE AMERASIAN'S MOTHER
He is gone.
Policeman A pulls a chair out to sit on without waiting to be asked.
POLICEMAN A
So, what have you two decided?
The woman suddenly turns toward him, grabs his hand, and begins to
plead:
THE AMERASIAN'S MOTHER
Please help me. He is my only son.
Please pity him. He is not a bad
boy.
Policeman A taps her hand gently.
POLICEMA
Rest assured. I already promised. I
understand young folks like him are
just restless.
THE AMERASIAN'S MOTHER
(exhaling)
My son and I have met the girl's
father. He understands the
situation and appears to be
sympathetic. He is unlikely to
denounce my son. Furthermore, my
son knows the girl; she is not a
stranger. He even loves her.
Policeman A's eyes widen upon hearing these new revelations.
POLICEMAN A
Is that true? Then there is little
to worry about. The issue is the
