Europes biggest music magazine Q has teamed up with global environmental campaigner organisers, Greenpeace for an exclusive twelve track CD giveaway. "The Essential Glastonbury - The Greatest Hits From The Greatest Festival" will be cover-mounted on the July issue of Q on sale 1 June 2004.

This is the first time Greenpeace has produced a music CD to publicise the 'Save or Delete' ancient forests campaign. The disc also celebrates the association that Q magazine and Greenpeace have with the ultimate music festival, Glastonbury. The CD includes twelve vintage tracks from festival favourites, including a live Glastonbury performance from The Chemical Brothers. Full track listing is below.

Radiohead's Thom York captures the issues targeted by Greenpeace's 'Save or Delete' campaign on the CD sleeve. He identifies how many everyday choices can either help to save or delete ancient forests around the world:
"Right now we are wiping out many rare and very important species, permanently. All for the sake of crap garden furniture and click together floors. Fucking nuts."

The campaign asks for all people to think twice when buying wood and paper products to make sure they come from recycled or certified sources such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which guarantees high environmental and social standards.

Paul Rees, editor of Q magazine adds: "This is the first time that Greenpeace has chosen to support a cover-mounted CD, and we're delighted they elected Q to do so. In turn, we fully endorse and support Greenpeace's invaluable Save Or Delete campaign. And, through Q and Greenpeace, the Essential Glastonbury CD offers the best music anywhere for free."

Brenda Ramsey, Greenpeace Special Projects says
"Q magazine has given Greenpeace a unique opportunity to raise awareness amongst readers and Glastonbury festival goers about how they can help protect the world's ancient forests. We are delighted to have worked with Q on this very exciting project."
