Amazon under threat

Results of a Greenpeace investigation into the extent of illegal logging in the Amazon have been handed to the Amazonas authorities in Brazil. The report indicates that timber products exported to the UK and elsewhere may be illegal. Greenpeace's John Sauven gives the details.

"What Greenpeace has done recently is that we've gone on an expedition to find out how the illegal logging operations are going on. 80% of the logging that goes on in the Amazon is illegal which means that nearly all the Amazon logs and timber products that are coming out to the West, that are coming to the UK, are illegal."
