Nuclear Free Seas Flotilla: Opposition has also come from the public. In early July a Nuclear Free Seas Flotilla of 7 boats departed Auckland in New Zealand with the support of PM Helen Clark to go to the mid Tasman sea to meet 3 other boats from Australia and 1 from Vanuatu. A flotilla is being organised in the Irish Sea to oppose the nuclear ships when they arrive into Europe.

South Korea: asked Japan on 2nd July not to send the ships through the narrow straight off Pusan.

Fiji: Prime Minister Mr Laisenia Qarase called on the Heads of Government of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) to join Fiji in its outrage and opposition to the shipments.
