For almost a week, eleven small yachts have been heading across the Pacific to demonstrate huge public opposition to the shipment of highly dangerous faulty nuclear fuel that British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) is transporting from Japan to the UK.

The freighters tried to sneak off in the dead of night. But we caught up with them in an inflatable boat, dropping two activists from the flotilla to the side of the vessels at dawn on Sunday. The two swimmers, Ian Cohen, the upper house member of the New South Wales Parliament and Stuart Lennox of Tasmania, held up a banner reading
