The British government has refused to join in the widespread international condemnation of Star Wars (National Missile Defence). Yet the UK could actually stop this dangerous relic of cold war thinking from being developed in its current form.

The US needs to use at least two bases in the UK as part of its Star Wars system: Fylingdales and Menwith Hill in Yorkshire. This means the UK Government has a unique opportunity to veto the development of a Star Wars system.

Star Wars will do nothing to enhance the safety of the United Kingdom and working on President Bush's logic, will only serve to make these bases a target for those who would seek to break through the US missile shield.
