Over 240 candidates missed primary eight exams in Unity State.

February 16, 2022—At least 241 pupils have missed their Primary Eight Leaving Examinations in Unity State on issues to do with their Index numbers.

In a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia yesterday , Unity State Minister of General Education, Stephen Tot Chieng says the 241 candidates didn’t receive their index numbers from the national level.

Stephen said in Panyijiar County, there were 64 pupils who have not received their index numbers.

He said the fighting in Mirmir also disrupted the examinations there and that the exams were not delivered to the area.

“.. We are going to communicate on how to pupils of Mirmir can get the examination”, Stephen said.

Minister Stephen said for those who did not receive their index, they will keep communicating with the national ministry of general education and instruction in Juba to provide them with the remaining 241 indexes.

“This is where we will hope for pupils to attend their examination “. He said.

According to Stephen, all pupils who did not get their indexes should wait for coming weeks and maybe they will attend their national examination.

One of the candidates in Liech Primary School, Bentiu IDP camp, Koang Tap, said they didn’t receive their indexes and they do not know the reason to why they didn’t when they paid their index money.

“.. I am not happy because I didn’t attend my examination, we don’t believe that we will sit for examinations in the coming week, he decried.

Nyabuom Mead, another candidate from Liech Primary School, said there is no problem as they will wait.

“.. We will wait, if this is true the information that has been given to us by the State Minister of General Education and Instruction then, we will sit in coming week which is on 21st of February 2022.

According to Mead 43 candidates in Liech Primary School did not sit for the exam.
