President Kiir receives foreign Minister of United Arab Emirates.

Juba, South Sudan

June 6, 2022 — South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardit, received Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, the State Minister of the U.A.E Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, on Sunday, June 5th, 2022.

The Minister and President Kiir discussed boosting economic cooperation between the two Countries.

According to the office of the president, the proposed General Cooperation Agreement between South Sudan and United Arab Emirates(UAE ) aims at deepening the existing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two Countries in the areas of mutual interest.

The UAE delegation expressed deep interest of their country to undertake multi-investment projects in South Sudan especially in the areas of Agriculture, Infrastructure, Energy, Mining, wildlife and Tourism.

In response, President Kiir expresses his delightfulness at the “close relations between South Sudan and United Arab Emirates”, highlighting the prospects available to boost cooperation in several fields.

“.. The President further, welcomed the gesture of United Arab Emirates to invest in South Sudan in order to foster the existing bilateral relations between the two Countries”,Presidential Press Unit reads.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Minister of Presidential Affairs Hon. Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin said UAE delegation and the President of the Republic have exchanged views and experiences on several dimensions, adding that the agreement between the two countries has not been signed yet.

“.. H.E.the President and the UAE delegation exchanged views on a number of ideas. The Minister added that the Cooperation Agreement between the two Countries that has not yet been signed, will soon be signed by the parties of the two Countries”, he said in a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia.
