The Nigeria Immigration Service has deployed 21,640 officers and men for the February 25 and March 11 elections across the 36 states and FCT.

NIS comptroller general, Isah Jere, said this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

Mr Jere said the service approved the deployment of the personnel to be part of the election monitoring security apparatus of the federal government.

He, however, charged all the state comptrollers to ensure strict elections monitoring.

He said this should be in their respective states, especially as it concerned the non-participation of foreigners in the exercise.
