Ondo Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is currently presiding over the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting, Peoples Gazette has learnt.

The details of the agenda at the ongoing meeting are still unknown as of press time, as it is the first in three months. The last meeting was held on August 14 when Mr Aiyedatiwa was the acting governor.

However, The Gazette learnt that the exco meeting was being attended by members of the cabinet, which included the commissioners and special advisers to the governor.

The meeting comes after several months of political crisis between Mr Aiyedatiwa and ailing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The impasse was occasioned by the absence of Mr Akeredolu, who has continued to be absent from the state due to his health challenges.

The governor returned to Nigeria in September after his medical trip to Germany. After his return, Mr Akeredolu has been in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Last Friday, President Bola Tinubu summoned the political actors in the state to a meeting in Abuja, where it was agreed that Mr Aiyedatiws should continue to perform his duties as deputy governor.
