Anambra: Soludo appoints Onyedum sports commission chairman

Governor Charles Soludo has appointed Patrick Onyedum as the new chairman of the Anambra Sports Development Commission (ASDC).

Governor Charles Soludo has appointed Patrick Onyedum as the new chairman of the Anambra Sports Development Commission (ASDC).

The governor’s chief press secretary, Christian Aburime, announced the appointment of Mr Onyedum, chairman of the Anambra Athletics Association (AAA), via a statement on Sunday.

Mr Onyedum, a former athlete, will work as the second substantive chairman of the commission after Tony Oli’s four-year tenure ended in September.

He is the former transition committee chairman of the Anaocha local government area, where he organised annual athletics championships for secondary schools.

Mr Onyedum was appointed alongside several others in the state.

Other appointments include Chinwe Okoli as special adviser of innovation and business incubation, Ikeobi Ejiofor as managing director of the Anambra State Water Resources Management Agency, Osita Onuko as MD/CEO of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Obinna Nduka appointed to charge of the Anambra Road Maintenance Agency, and while Cele Anere as the MD of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade.
