Boy drowns in Kano pond

Boy, 17, has drowned in a pond in Tofa council.

The Kano State Fire Service confirmed on Monday that a 17-year-old boy drowned at Titin Jajira in Tofa local government area on Sunday.

Its spokesman, Saminu Abdullahi, stated that the service’s rescue team brought the boy out of a pond, but was later confirmed dead by a doctor.

“The corpse was handed over to the police at Bachirawa police divisional headquarter,’’ he stated.

The fire service would continue to investigate the incident, Abdullahi added.
