The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers has sought the assistance of the Federal Road Safety Corps in enforcing e-insurance certificates.

The NCRIB’s President, Babatunde Oguntade, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.

Mr Oguntade made the request during a courtesy visit to the FRSC leadership.

He emphasised the importance of the FRSC’s support in ensuring the validity, currency, and other critical details of insurance certificates.

According to him, insurance brokers play a crucial role in ensuring that individuals and corporate entities receive maximum value from their insurance policies.

The NCRIB encouraged Nigerians to engage the services of registered insurance brokers, as many individuals who face issues with their insurance did not utilise the expertise of registered brokers.

Mr Oguntade commended the FRSC for its efforts in reducing road risks and accidents nationwide.

He said that due to the activities of the FRSC, the number of deaths and injuries resulting from road accidents had decreased.

The NCRIB boss further stated that the FRSC’s operations had improved compliance with necessary automobile documentations, including third-party motor insurance, benefiting the insurance industry.

In response, Deputy Corps Marshal for Admin and Human Resources of FRSC, Victor Nwokolo, commended NCRIB and its members for providing the necessary insurance and risk management support to the Corps.

Mr Nwokolo assured that the FRSC would take stricter measures against those violating road regulations, including those within the insurance industry.

He pledged to collaborate with NCRIB on its proposed public sector training, focusing on enhancing the quality of manpower within the corps.
