Portable’s Debt Drama: Singer released by police, drops new single ‘SpiderMan’

Controversial street singer Portable, also known as Habeeb Okikiola, was released by the Lagos state police command after meeting bail conditions. He was arrested for owing a car dealer N14 million after purchasing a N27 million G-Wagon.

Confirming the arrest, Lagos police spokesperson officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated, “Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought a G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million, and refused to pay the rest, claiming that the vehicle was bad.”

Despite the controversy, Portable released a new single titled “SpiderMan” hours after his release. In the song, he defiantly sings, “Baba no go die young unless to ba darugbo,” expressing his determination to thrive despite challenges.

Hotel surveillance camera captures Diddy brutalising ex-girlfriend Cassie

A surveillance video from 2016, obtained exclusively by CNN, revealed rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, during an altercation at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

The video, matching allegations from a federal lawsuit Cassie filed and settled in November 2023, showed Combs grabbing Cassie by the neck, throwing her to the ground, and kicking her. Cassie’s complaint accused Combs of years of abuse, including forcing her to use drugs, having sex with male prostitutes, and physical and sexual assault.

Cassie’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, described the video as confirming Combs’ disturbing behaviour, while Combs and his team have not commented on the video or the allegations.

Nigerian singer Oritsefemi revealed in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo that his ex-wife Nabila Fash blamed him for their inability to have children in their marriage despite experiencing 21 miscarriages.

Oritsefemi also alleged that about 20 of Fash’s friends came to beat him up in their house, leading to the collapse of their marriage in 2022. Fash filed for divorce, citing infidelity and emotional abuse, accusing Oritsefemi of having children with other women during their marriage. However, Oritsefemi denied these allegations

House of Dragon’s second season will stream in Africa on Showmax this June

The upcoming season of House of Dragons will be available for streaming in Africa on Showmax and M-Net starting from June 17.

The first season, which won an Emmy, was recognized as the Best TV Series – Drama at the 2023 Golden Globes and received the Best TV Series award at Rotten Tomatoes’ Golden Tomato Awards for being the best-reviewed show of 2022.

It is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and revolves around the story of House Targaryen

Nigerian artists Burna Boy, Tems, Asake, and Seyi Vibez have been nominated for the 2024 BET Awards. The award show will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 30, with the theme “Standing on Culture.” Ayra Starr received three nominations, while Burna Boy and Tems each received two, Seyi Vibez bags his first-ever BET nomination for the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act. Tyla, 21 Savage, Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, and Usher are also nominated, and Drake and Nicki Minaj lead with the most nominations. Confirmed performers include GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, and Victoria Monét.
