Businesswoman nabbed for stealing blocks

Felicia Ogundipe was on Thursday docked at the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for stealing 400 blocks.

A 52-year-old businesswoman, Felicia Ogundipe, was on Thursday docked at the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for stealing 400 blocks worth N120,000.

The police charged Ms Ogundipe with conspiracy, theft, malicious damage and threat to life.

Prosecution counsel Sikiru Ibrahim told the court that the accused committed the offence on February 2, at about 9:00 a.m., in Golodo village.

He said the suspect and others at large stole 400 blocks worth N120,000, belonging to the complainant, Olukemi Oyebade.

The police officer added that the accused damaged the complainant’s property and threatened violence.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate S. A Adesina admitted the defendant to bail of N100,000 and two sureties in like sum. She adjourned the case until May 16 for a hearing.
