CCTV shows assailant fatally shot South African rapper AKA point-blank to head

The yet to be identified assailant shot the rapper at close range while exchanging pleasantries with someone.

A newly released CCTV video has shown that the late South African Rapper Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA, was shot point-blank to the head, leaving no chance for survival. 

The video shows the assailant walked towards the rapper while exchanging pleasantries with a friend and shot him at a close range. 

Although the assailant is yet to be identified, different comments have trailed the access of the assailant to the rapper amidst his bodyguards. 

Commenting on the incident, his parents wrote; “It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of February 10, 2023.

“We are awaiting further details from Durban police.

“To us, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, most importantly father to his beloved daughter Kairo.”

Mr Forbes was 35 years old.
