Popular Canadian singer Celine Dion has cancelled her upcoming shows and rescheduled some following the revelation by the pop star that she is currently battling a rare disease.

The 54-year-old star made the announcement in an emotional video posted on her verified Instagram page on Thursday, expressing that she can no longer hide her health predicament from the public anymore.

“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through,” Celine said in the broadcast. “It hurts me to tell you that I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.”

She said in the video that she has been dealing with a lasting serious health condition and was recently diagnosed with a very rare condition which affects only “one in a million people” called the Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).

SPS is a neurological disorder with features of an autoimmune disease, which the singer revealed has been hard for her to deal with.

The condition has left Celine Dion unable to walk properly, and sing too, thus, she could no longer carry on with her scheduled UK and Europe next year.

However, the shows planned for Spring 2023 have been postponed to 2024, while the eight other shows scheduled for summer of next year, have been cancelled permanently by the singer.

The historic best-selling Canadian artist has been in and out of studio in recent years following the unfortunate death of her husband René Angélil, who died as a result of cancer in 2014 and brother, Daniel Dion.
