The Executive Director/CEO of the National Film and Video Censors Board, Adedayo Thomas, has urged workers to embrace productivity to effectively drive the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

He gave the advice in an interview with journalists on the sideline of the retirement/send-off and awards ceremony organised by the board on Friday in Abuja.

According to him, ministries, departments and agencies play pivotal roles in driving the Renewed Hope Agenda geared toward delivering a prosperous nation for all.

He urged workers to ensure improved productivity by accomplishing tasks within stipulated period as well as shun truancy and indiscipline.

“Everyone must support the Federal Government by improving on our work and change bad attitudes to work in all offices. Punctuality and timely completion of tasks must be encouraged as this will bring the desired turnaround we all want,” he said.

Mr Thomas said the event was to celebrate a retired Assistant Director, Daniel Otegbeye, and others, and to honour outstanding staff of the year, to inspire workforce for renewed commitment to duty in the coming year.

According to him, the categories of awards for staff include punctuality award, best staff of the year, best department of the year and best zonal coordinator of the year, amongst others.

The NFVCB helmsman extolled the dedication and prudence of the retiring officer while bidding him farewell and urged others to emulate his virtues.

“He is one of the best officers we have here, and these are civil servants we need to encourage so that others can emulate their dedication. Till this moment, I still seek advice from him, and I wish him well as he retires from public service,” he said.

In his remark, Mr Otegbeye expressed appreciation to the management and staff of the board for the honour.

“I thank God for this beautiful occasion and I appreciate the executive director for organising this type of send-off and for appreciating my little contribution to the board. I therefore advise those still in service to be committed to their jobs so that at the end of the day they will be happy that they worked with the board,” he said.
