The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have resolved to partner in the fight against corruption and other social vices.

The resolution for the partnership was mooted when Oluyemi Ibiloye, the Commandant, NSCDC, Ondo State Command, paid a courtesy visit to the resident anti-corruption commissioner, Kayode Kupolati, on Wednesday.

According to a statement on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, Aidamenbor Daniel, Mr Ibiloye said the two organisations needed to work together in the fight against corruption.

The commandant said the agencies need to rid the state of criminality and all other forms of social vices.

The NSCDC boss also sought collaboration with the commission in building its personnel’s capacity in forensic auditing to investigate fraud and corruption to enhance their operational capabilities.

Mr Kupolati assured the NSCDC commandant that ICPC was ready to collaborate with the command on capacity building and intelligence sharing.

“And one of the issues we are facing is that citizens are not reporting corruption cases as they ought to the commission,” Mr Kupolati said.
