Nigerian comedian and social media influencer Chukwuebuka Amuzie, otherwise called Brain Jotter, has visited folklore musician Mike Ejeagha after his 1983 single “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” went viral.

The song gained popularity after Brain Jotter used it to make a dance video on his social media accounts which became a trend.

The video of the visit was shared on social media and showed the comedian accompanied by his team. The emotional encounter left the 93-year-old singer in tears.

Brain Jotter explained what inspired the viral dance video and how his father used to play the song for him when he was younger.

“It was not really planned. I think it was just the will of God because the last I heard of the song was when my father played it as a kid when we were travelling to the East. In my head, sef I go de vex,” he said amidst laughter.

He said, “As God will have it I was just scrolling through TikTok and I passed the song. I scrolled like four times and I came back and the song just made sense to me. And the video I used to do it was a video I had already done. It’s just the will of God.’’

He gave the musician and his family N2 million.

The viral video, featuring participants in a comic leg dance and chasing each other after the “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” song, gained traction on social media with many Nigerians including celebrities partaking in it.

The celebrities included Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, fellow comedians Sabinus and Crazy Clown, footballer Asisat Oshoala, and a former BB Naija housemate Tobi Bakare, among others.

Some Nigerians accused Brain Jotter of copyright infringement and urged him to give royalties accrued from online platforms to the elderly singer.

In response to the accusation, he explained that revenue from songs on social media is collected by the platforms and transferred to the rightful owners of the property.

He further thanked Nigerians for looking out for the aged singer and assured them that he never made money from the viral video.
