The All Progressives Congress in Delta has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the sole presidential and governorship candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The party also passed a vote of confidence in the two for their impactful governance.

The decision was reached during the APC State Executive Committee meeting held on Wednesday, August 27, at the party secretariat in Asaba.

A statement by APC state publicity secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, made available in Asaba, said that APC state chairman, Omeni Sobotie, presided over the meeting.

The meeting was attended by SEC members and 25 council chairpersons.

Mr Sobotie, it said, used the medium to charge party leaders to remain steadfast, disciplined, and united in strengthening the APC in Delta under the leadership of Mr Oborevwori.

Mr Onojeghuo, quoting the chairman, said that harmony and loyalty were essential for the party’s victory in future elections, urging members to embrace reconciliation and inclusion across all levels of leadership.

He said that the focus of the party is on strengthening grassroots mobilisation, addressing internal divisions, and repositioning the party as a dominant force in Delta politics.

The chairman also briefed members on the forthcoming empowerment programme designed to bring relief and tangible benefits to party members and communities across the state.

The highlight of the meeting was the adoption of a resolution endorsing Mr Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate, in recognition of his visionary leadership, bold economic reforms, and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The party also endorsed Mr Oborevwori as the sole governorship candidate in Delta for 2027, with members citing his proven record of service, inclusive leadership, and dedication to good governance under the M.O.R.E. Agenda.

The motion was moved by Ubu Digbame, state assistant auditor of the party, and seconded by Norbert Sochukwudinma, party chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area.
