The Lagos State government has closed its case against the medical director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Olufemi Olaleye, who is facing trial at an Ikeja Special Offences Court for allegedly defiling his wife’s 16-year-old niece.

Babajide Martins, the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) told the court on Friday that his team would be closing the case against the doctor.

“Prosecution is closing its case today,” he said.

After the announcement, the defence counsel Babatunde Ogala informed the court that the defence would be filing a no-case submission to urge the court to dismiss the charge. If this is granted, it means there would be no need for the defence to open its case.

Judge Ramon Oshodi adjourned the case till 16th of March for adoption of written address on a no-case submission.
