The wife of one of the APC governorship aspirants in Edo, Orobosa Agba, on Saturday, said that her husband would prioritise the welfare of children, youths and women if elected.

Mrs Agbah said this in Uzanu, Etsako East Local Government Area in Edo, during her yearly children’s party to identify and fete Women and children in the area.

This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by the convener, Edo Women In Diaspora (EWID), Roseline Odiye.

Mrs Agbah, who was accompanied to the event by Ms Odiye, said her husband planned to adopt the top-bottom approach in ensuring the transformation of the state, including the well-being of children, youths and women.

She said her husband would bridge the disparity between the children of the poor and those of the rich through massive improvement in the standard of learning and teaching in public schools.

She also said that her husband would ensure that the youths were productively engaged, adding that this would help curb youth restiveness.

According to her, her husband, if elected, would empower women to cater for their families as well as contribute their quota to the economic development of the state.

“This is because children and youths form the major segment of the population of Edo.

“Deliberate efforts must be made to prioritise their welfare and anything that concerns their wellbeing if the state is to witness peace, progress and development.

“This is why Prince Clem Agba’s campaign already has a blueprint developed, which centres around children and youth welfare in addition to women empowerment“, she said.

She said even without being in government her family remained committed to the empowerment of women and youths as well as shown concern for the wellbeing of children.

“We will be taking it a step further when we are in government by committing more resources to these priority areas,” she said.

She said that if elected, her husband would ensure a drastic reduction in the number of out-of-school children, and ensure the welfare of those in school were well taken care of.
