EFCC arrests seven for internet fraud in Makurdi

EFCC operatives recovered three iPads, eight phones and one international passport from the suspects.

The Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Benue State, on Thursday, arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters.

The anti-graft agency disclosed in a statement on its official X handle that operatives arrested the suspects in Aliade, Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to the statement, EFCC operatives recovered three iPads, eight phones and one international passport from the suspects.

The agency said they would be charged in court after the completion of the investigation.

The statement read, “The Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, February 29, 2024, arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters.

“They were arrested in their hideout in Aliade in the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.

“Items recovered from them include eight phones, three iPads, two internet routers and one international passport.”
