The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has received an award of distinction and quality service from SERVICOM.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, the national coordinator of SERVICOM, Nnenna Akajemeli, presented the award at a one-day stakeholders’ forum in Abuja.

The statement said the forum was organised for directors of reforms, nodal officers, public relations officers and CSOs to sustain enlightenment campaigns on the damaging effects of service failures.

“Akajemeli commended the EFCC for raising the bar in strengthening the service delivery campaign. She said the award was given in recognition of the executive chairman’s dedication and support in achieving SERVICOM’s vision and mission,” the EFCC statement explained.

It added, “The SERVICOM boss advocated policies to be implemented to ensure ordinary Nigerians feel the impact of good governance and citizens are better served.”

It also mentioned that Ms Akajemeli urged the participants on the need for synergy in realising the dream of good governance in the country.

Other ministries, departments and agencies recognised at the forum included the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Federal Inland Revenue Service.

“The award given to the EFCC chairman is the latest by SERVICOM, which had in 2022, recognised the EFCC as the best parastatal in service delivery in Nigeria,” said the statement. “Bawa was equally honoured as the second best chief executive for his commitment to improved and customer-focused service delivery.”
